PS CS3 and Windows 7 - Not Compatible?

I asked Adobe Customer Service why my PS CS3 doesn't work with Windows 7.  I was told that Photoshop 10 and Windows 7 are not compatible.  Does this sound right?

    Adobe posted on their site that CS3 and CS4 will work on windows 7 but there will be issues disclaimer. When I read that it was enough for me not to use it on windows 7. Seems to me Adobe customer service and what is printed on their website is not on the same sheet of music. If using PS to put food on the table I wouldn't put it on windows 7 unless you have a backup plan like another computer to use.

    Thanks.  Unfortunately, my previous laptop died (Vista 32 bit) and I purchased a new HP laptop with Windows 7.  Now I don't know if I have to, or should, upgrade to CS4.  Is CS3 and Photoshop 10 the same thing?  Sorry for the stupid question, but these guys have me all turned around.

    Photoshop CS3 is the same thing as 10. The 10 is for version 10.

     

    10.0.1 is the update that needs to be applied (just for your info)

    Thanks.  How do I get the 10.0.1 update?  Sorry for asking the same questions on two different threads...

    At the top you will see Help. Click on that and choose Updates. After the download ensure that photoshop and bridge are not running then apply the updates.
