Spark Automation: SkinnableContainer is shown as "FlexObject" in HP QTP hierarchy

Nov 4, 2009 6:26 AM

Hi all,

I am using "automation_spark.swc" library shipped with Flash Builder Beta 2 to enable automation support for Spark components and containers.

My test view contains SkinnableContainer with 1 Spark Button inside.

<Skin xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
      xmlns="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark">
....

<SkinnableContainer id="sc" width="100" height="100">
<Button label="Hello World" top="0">
</Button>
</SkinnableContainer>

</Skin>

When I am browsing the automation object hierarchy in HP QTP, SkinnableContainer is recognized as "FlexObject", while both buttons are recognized by HP QTP as "SparkButton"

  Is that as expected that SkinnableContainer is recognized as "FlexObject"?

    I'll let someone from the automation team respond, but just know that

    the automation support that came out with Beta 2 was far from

    complete...

    HI,

    Is that as expected that SkinnableContainer is recognized as "FlexObject"?

    Yes. For the Beta2.

    Reason:

    How an object is represented in the script is decided in the XML file. XML file which is available in beta is a temporary one as the actual XML file is not yet ready.

    However this wont affect the automation of the applications.

    Since the correct XML file is not available, the checkpoint feature will not show correct properties.

    However when the automation is ready for release all these information will be available as applicable to the object.

    Thanks,

    Rani
