I have experience with FrameMaker and with RoboHelp, but not for single sourcing. What is the best practice for images for single sourcing? What resolution, format (png, tif, ?) Do you use different resolution and format for print vs. webhelp? Do you resize in PhotoShop?
Right now, I am trying to take 300 dpi png but the come into FrameMaker super small...when I resize the resolution changes to 96. What do I do?
Thanks!

Hi,
I use SnagIt to get screen captures, which are typically JPGs. I
configure SnagIt to capture the images at 150 dpi and save them as JPGs.
In SnagIt 8, you can set that from the Capture menu (Capture > Filters >
Image Resolution). This format and resolution looks good in print and
online help. At that resolution, I haven't found it necessary to resize
anything in RoboHelp. If you do have to resize an image, do it in
Photoshop or some other image editing software that allows you to resize
(or resample) the image without changing the resolution.
And, unless you point RoboHelp to the same graphics folder used with the
Frame documents, it creates copies of all the images anyway, so you can
safely resize that version of the image without affecting the print
version. Not single-source in the true sense, but close enough.
Hope that helps!
Sam
