Search feature

Feb 19, 2010 10:37 AM

I've instructed Acrobat to search all PDF within a certain folder for certain text. The feature works but I noticed that it missed some of the PDF.

The missing PDF in question, I was able to find the text using the Find command so obviously the Search isn't working as well as it should be.

How reliable is the Search feature?

Also I do not see an option that will allow me to search all PDF within a certain directory and to ignore subfolders?

Thanks,

Devin

For Adobe Reader/Acrobat Search to function properly you must have a Cataloged index provided.
The Search feature uses the PDX file to access the associated index files.
When you build a Catalog index the configuration dialog lets you select the folders containing PDF files that are to be cataloged and the folders containing PDF file that are not to be cataloged.

    Be well...
