I am an independent/lone wolf AE artist looking for a tangible (non-webinar/tutorial) way to connect and learn. Conferences seem to work well for me, but I am finding it difficult to locate an After Effects, Compositing, or Motion Design conference.

Can anyone point me in the right direction (or send me an Expression that will enter the correct words in a Google search)?

upper midwest... minneapolis to be specific, but I am not opposed to travel (especially this time of year)

In my personal opinion, the best conference coming up is Post|Production World conference, in Las Vegas. It starts before the NAB show and extends into the middle of the NAB show. It's at the same convention center complex, too. There's a _lot_ of great material at this conference for After Effects. Chris & Trish Meyer and Richard Harrington are usually there.

I'm presenting this year, too.

There was also a conference last year, Motion '09, that people seemed to like. That was in New Mexico, I think.
