i'm using the mediafactory and the mediaplayer class to create and play video elements. now i'm not quite sure if my webserver is doing something wrong with the mimetype but it looks like osmf can't play progressive .mp4 or .mov videos while they are downloading. but strangely enough it works with an .f4v. can please someone explain the support of osmf regarding mpeg4/h.264?
ok sorry for posting this. it's a common meta data problem of the mpeg4 container. some meta data has to be at the start of the file, whereas some encoders place it at the end. use the correct tools to create the video and it should work. ffmpeg makes a good job or use the adobe media encoder cs4.
