Assertion Failed

Apr 13, 2010 2:25 PM

When I try to use my Flash Media Live Encoder to stream on ustream, I keep getting an error that says,

"Assertion Failed!

Program: ...

File: .\inpin.cpp

Line: 516

Expression: SUCCEEDED(hr)

For information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts.

(Press Retry to debug the application - JIT must be enabled)"

Then there are three buttons, Abort, Retry, and Ignore. Abort causes FME to quit, Retry does nothing, and Ignore does nothing.

If it makes any difference, I just got a new computer with Windows 7.  When I used FME on my old computer with Windows XP, it worked.

What can I do?

Please attach the fmle session log file and give your machine configuration.

I have the same problem, running windows 7 ultimate, 64-bit, FMLE 3.1, dazzle dvc100 with vista 64-bit drivers. When i select DVC100 as audio source on FMLE, it gives me this error. I also noticed that it shows it 2 times, but second time line part is line:533, when first time its line:516 like in the picture.

    Thu Apr 15 2010 18:37:51 : Video Encoding Started

On my stream, it says live but doesn't show any video, or sound. If i select any other recording source, my dazzle video comes out fine.

Please try any other audio device in combination with dazzle video device and see if the error still occurs.

Are you using the correct device drivers? Does the same dazzle device work on any other machine?

Yes, i can stream when i select other audio source, for example stereo mix. Then video is fine, and it had been fine for video and audio on XP too. Other thing i found out, that Virtual audio cable doesn't also recognize DVC100 audio device on win 7 , but on xp it did.

The Dazzle dvc100 vista 64-bit drivers are only ones available atm, that work on windows 7. Pinnacle haven't made windows 7 drivers for dazzle dvc100 yet, so vista drivers are all i can use atm. also,  audio works on Pinnacle studio 12.

    YeanoGames

Which version of FMLE you are using? Try with FMLE 3.1.

Could you please give the link of the dazzle device you are using?

To any and all who are still having difficulties with this issue, search for and download the MLE version 3.0.  There is obviously a bad compile or library linked to version 3.1.  I was having the same issue with an AverMedia card, downgraded to v3.0, and it works perfectly fine now.  After I had downgraded, I received an error stating that the audio sample values currently selected did not match the imput source and the values were automatically updated to 'compatible' numbers.  If Adobe is intending to review/fix this bug, perhaps that is where the issue originates?  In any event good luck to you...
