    Hello,

    Thanks for posting your question. At the moment, it's not possible to make sub-folders in a workspace's folder; we realize that these would be important for many who'd like to be keeping their files super-organized, and so we're strongly considering adding this functionality to the service in a future release.

    If you'd like to participate in the process of making this a top priority, I recommend heading over to our Ideas site (http://ideas.acrobat.com) to either post this as a new idea or vote/comment on an already-posted idea for folders (for example, this one: http://bit.ly/b2OuIB).

    Thanks very much for your interest! Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Rebecca

    It is now almost Mar of 2011--one year since your reply to this thread.

    The acrobat.com space is almost unusable without subfolders.

    Additionally, there is no way to narrow one's searches to documents with multiple specified keytags.

    When will you have folders?

    Hi Peter,

    I thought I'd share the way I currently organise my files on Acrobat.com in relation to your question regarding folders.

    Attached is a screen shot of my filing system:

    Screen shot 2011-05-18 at 9.25.19 PM.png

    I use the Shared Workspace as the top level folder, in my case filed by Client Name.

    Then within each Client Workspace I use a new folder for every project filed by a job number.

    If I need to organise the files within the each folder, Tags are the best bet. Multiple tags would be nice but a simple yet effective labeling system should cover you for most uses. Some of my Tags inculde labels such as Finished Artwork, Design Development, Concepts, Brief.

    Then I can share the workspace with my client making all their current an archived work available for download anytime.

    Hope that helps,

    Cheers,

    Stephen

    Adobe says they have been considering this for close to 2 years.

    I cant use the product till there are subfolders.

    They just don’t get it.

    If management used the program ("ate their own dogfood"), they would understand.

    Hi  Jacob,

    Until subfolders arrive I would try the same as outlined above in my previous post:

    Client = Workspace

    Issue = Folder

    Articles = Tags

    Best of luck,

    Stephen

    Is there any update on sub-folders.

    This is still a show stopper preventing us from rolling out this acrobat.com

    Please advise

    Good day Peter,

    There are no active development plans for Acrobat.com sub-folders at this moment, however I have brought this request to the product team's attention again that there are users like yourself, Jacob and Stephen who'd find great value in capability.

    Kind regards,

    David

    Thanks, Dave

    If they want users (especially larger ones) to migrate from more traditional environments (like NetDocuments and the Windows metaphor) then they need to support that change.

    There is a reason why NetDocuments.com, one of the leading providers supports subfolders (and subfolders of subfolders).

    So disappointing that they don’t (really) understand their potential customer base.
