There is no error.

It simply fails to proceed with the launch of the application after agreeing with the license agreement.

Try to launch the FireWorks CS4 with Admin Access.

Right click on Fireworks CS4 icon,

Select "Run as Administrator"

Try to Delete the Preference Folder in "Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS4"

<user_name> = Your User Name:

in XP:

Application Data Path:

C:\Documents and Settings \<user_name>\Local Settings\Application Data

Fireworks CS4 Preference Folder Path:

C:\Documents and Settings \<user_name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Fireworks CS4

Delete the Preference folder and re-launch FW.

Note: They are hidden folders, you need to uncheck the 'Show Hidden Files' and "Hide System Protected File" in Folder Options > View.

I already have show hidden folders turned on.

The folder

C:\Documents and Settings \<user_name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe
does not exist.

Replace "<user_name>" with your Windows Account Name.

example... If your Windows Acount name is : Doigy

Then path is:

C:\Documents and Settings\Doigy\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe

The license agreement shows each time Fireworks launches, so something is not being saved, also.

From the Design Premium Readme: If any of the applications have already been serialized with a different serial number, it will continue to use that serial number until you remove the older serial number using Help > Deactivate > Erase my serial number. Then on the next launch, the application will recognize the new serial number.

In Dreamweaver, Help > Deactivate is greyed out.

Correction: Deactivate is available. After deactivating Dreamweaver, Fireworks still has the same problem.

I think it would be a good idea for you to contact Adobe technical support. In the US, call 800-833-6687 and follow the prompt for "installing" to talk to an agent or have an agent call you back.
