Does it have a separate serial number? If so use It.
If it came with the CS Package. use the one for CS5.
thank you for your reply sir,its a student edtion the serial number works fine with my cs5 design premium but is not accepted for acrobat pro 9 when i try to instal that. What do i do?
If acrobat was installed with the package try entering the CS5 serial number. If no go. look and see if there is a separate serial number for Acrobat.
If neither works contact mailto:adbecare@adobe.com and see explain problem see if they can give an answer.
Thank will contact them, Thank you very much for your help.
Did you manage to find an answer to this? I have the same problem with CS5 for a PC, there seems to be no supplied serial number for Adobe Reader 9 Pro. maybe they give you the disk as a tempter and you install it as a trial, then have to purchase it. If I cannot resolve I will go back to the default free Adobe Reader. A bit strange that they give you the disk though.
EDIT -
Actually, I just read this
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/826/cpsid_82622.html
Seems Acrobat 9 Pro is included in CS5 Design Premium, but I have read front to back and cannot locate a serial number, and the CS5 serial number didn't work (with or without dashes) so I guess I will log a support request and ask them.
I too am asking about the Student Teacher edition, though it is supposed to be exactly the same as the full version.
EDIT 2 -
Just found this -
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/636246
Now I have to go find out what it means.
At least it answers the question of what is needed.
EDIT 3 -
As I said in that other topic...
OK I have figured it all out.
You buy Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design premium Student and Teacher edition.
You go to the Order Fulfillment page http://www.adobe.com/uk/education/students/studentedition/order_fulfil lment.html
You click on "Get you serial number"
(log in if you aren't already)
You enter all the information and attach your student ID etc, selecting your product as the design premium, and you get a support request raised. Within a few days you get a serial number for CS5 Design Premium (mine took 7 minutes to get).
But you need to repeat this process, entering all the same information, but choose Acrobat 9 Professional as the product. It then sends you a serial number on the second case you raised.
By this time, I had installed Acrobat 9 Pro as a trial, so I entered the serial number in and it all worked, then I clicked on Help - Registration and it all went through okay.
Yay!

I've had the same problem and received little to no helpful advice or correspondence (despite being promised a resolve on several encounters with adobe support). After reading confused one's suggestion I decided to attempt to repeat the process of acquiring a student serial. I am still waiting for my new case to be reviewed, however I am confident that this will solve the mystery.
thanks for the advice confused one!

After waiting 5 minutes Adobe sent me the serial number for Acrobat 9 Pro. Thanks confused one ![]()
I also have a huge problem! I installed the entire CS5 master collection trial on my mac os x, and worked with that for a few days (other than acrobat 9 pro because the trial does not come with that). Then, since it appealed to me, I purchased a serial number for it from adobe, and then while running an app, entered it. The serial number worked perfectly and everything worked except there was one huge problem! I could not find acrobat 9 pro in any of my downloaded applications! Adobe said on their notes that the trial of CS5 master would not include Acrobat 9 pro, but if the serial number was entered, Acrobat 9 pro would appear! I can't find it though! Can someone please help me!!!!
