Problems creating a site in DreamWeaver

Oct 13, 2006 7:58 AM

I'm on a machine that I've been using for quite some time. Another guys is taking over so we've setup a different username on the machine for him and now we're trying to configure the web sites in Dreamweaver on this new user account.

Most of the sites are pulling in fine, however, one particular site I'm trying to setup is having problems. It's getting hung up in the same folder each time, but not the same file, and hangs. I've let it sit for a good 10 min without it moving past the point it gets stuck at.

the site only has about 6000 files in it vs. another site I've already setup with 15k files and it worked fine. I've checked the directory of the site that it's getting stuck on it and I don't see anything abnormal in there. Just basic .asp, .xml files. A couple of .vbs files. Nothing crazy, though.

any information on why this might be happening would greatly appreciated. thanks!

    What system architecture (and exact version) and what Dreamweaver version you are working with? It is imperative to know, though.

    What do you mean when you say it's getting hung? Is it scanning for changed
    files or something?

    Export the site definition from one system, and import it to the other one,
    using the Site Manager.

    Will two users be sharing the same local site? <quivering in my boots>

    Also, does the site contain any swf files?

    How have you defined the testing server on the new site?
