This update applies to DVD installations of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 only.

There are separate updates for the DVD vs. download version. We had an issue with the Windows update for download version bits and are working to fix it this morning. It should post shortly.

It will also be available via update manager today.

    Nice improvement.

My PPBM4 score went down to 12.8 seconds, only due to the render test. Still have to check the other tests.

On the CS5 beta, non MPE rendering takes 75 seconds and now with the update and MPE on, only 4 seconds with 4 layers heavily mixed material.

I can't believe this is the only reason to release an update. No other bug fixes or improvements?

Definitely, at least for the GTX-480 the limit of 3 tracks has been removed. Whether there is a new higher limit or no limit at all, I still have to test, but with 6 HDV video tracks, all with a MPE effect, arranged as PIP's plus a subtitle track plus a transparent video with the timecode, there is no rendering required. The yellow line stays and it plays without problems.

additional video tracks is great news but premiere CS5 still has problem with transition and AVCHD.describe in this topic:http://forums.adobe.com/thread/623868?tstart=0

My CS5 is on order so I can't install the update... but at 375,250 KB that is a BIG update!

After the update I can also confirm that I can stack more than 3 layers with accellerated effects without having to render.  I've got 5 layers with various effects and scaling, opacity, colour correction which plays back smoothly, then as I add more layers, render bars stay yellow but playback slowly degrades. I have a GTS 250.

This is very possive that there is so little problems with CS5 and that currently there is such improvment on the graphix cards even with the GTS250.

So...how many layers does this open up?

I can only say that the update will allow additional layers to be supported.

Yes, this update only addressed this one issue. I can't say when or if other issues will be fixed.
