Print a story with word count

I would like to be able to print a story AND its word count from InCopy. This does not appear to be possible using the program as it is, so I wondered if a script could add the word count as text at the end of the story itself. Could someone point me in the right direction, please?

    OK, let me put it another way. Would it be possible for an InCopy javascript to count all the words in a story, add that number to the bottom of the story text ('XXXX words'), and trigger the Print dialog?

     

    The second two actions I can just about handle, but I would be grateful if someone could suggest a simple way of counting words. I don't want dialogs or text selection choices - just a word count of the current story.

    I have now written a JavaScript to do this. Thanks for reading anyway.
