Hello,
When selecting the option of File --> Save As PDF in FrameMaker 9.0 (Windows XP Pro) can’t multi-select the paragraphs in the Include Paragraphs list. (Tried first using SHIFT and afterwards tried other keys such as CTRL, ALT.) There is also a strange default of what appears in the Include paragraphs list. It’s extremely tedious selecting each and every paragraph and moving it to the Don’t Include list.
Would most appreciate advice on resolving this issue.
Regards, Donna
P.S.
I've browsed the discussion database and saw that for FrameMaker 8.0 it wasn't recommended using Save As PDF. Is this still the case?
Donna,
Yes, you cannot shift-click or ctrl-click in these lists to select multiple items in the list. FrameMaker has not been updated to use these now standard techniques.
The only thing that I know of that you can do is to first move the entire list, then move individuals items back. To move an entire list, one way or the other, hold down the Shift key and click the appropriate arrow button.
For example, when you set the PDF bookmarks, the list defaults to all paragraphs in the Include list, which

For example, when you set the PDF bookmarks, the list defaults to all paragraphs in the Include list, which seems to me silly for the default, but that is the way it is. Shift-click the right arrow to move them all into the exclude list. Then move the ones you want to include one by one into the include list. It is still not the most efficient way to do it, but that is all that FrameMaker allows.
