Acrobat 9 in 64 Bit Windows 7

Aug 11, 2010 8:37 AM

I've run into a problem I can't quite figure out how to resolve for a client,

Sometimes when I open a .pdf file in IE 8 on a windows 7 machine I receive a blank error message with a blue question mark in it with absolutely no text. At first I thought it was because we had Adobe Reader and Acrobat installed on the system, but I have since removed Adobe Reader and run a repair on Acrobat. I thought this had resolved the issue, but occasionally it happens again. Because the issue is sporadic I have immense difficulty testing resolution on it, as every time it opens up correctly again I'm uncertain whether it's just a false positive, as eventually the issue will reoccur.

Should I completely remove acrobat and reinstall the application, or was the repair satisfactory? Has anyone experienced a smiliar issue and found resolution, or should I be looking at the Browser/OS for potential conflicts?

Any input is appreciated,

Thanks.

OS: Win7 64 bit

Browser: IE8

Acrobat Version: 9
