Text created in FC disappearing? What the Hell?

I was creating a site in FC. I needed to add an address line and a few words to a page that existed in a project, easy, right?

I typed in the text, hit save and all the text disappeared.

Tried this several times using save, save as, save as copy. All gone on that page. Copied the text, created new text object, pasted the text in  - gone.

Switched to pointed and found squished text box in corner, expanded it, nothing in it, repasted, save gone.

Restarted, shut down, checked fonts existed (font change has no effect), checked for updates, waited a day, tried creating new project.

Worked fine until Thursday night, created a 15 page site earlier in the month.

System 7 (64) current, dual core, 4 gig ram, multiple drives. Using complete cs5 master suite. FC version 1.0.0.273393

Confused.

    I found the same problem. It appears to happen when your pasted text contains certain non text characters such as semi colons, tilde, etc. I have sent the FC team a Bug Fix item about this.

    Agreed on the cutting and pasting the special characters. Found this same from page to page, or if you cut and paste then enter a special character.

    Specific problems with colons.

    Thanks for the answer.

    Hope adobe can fix this one.

    Although looseapples has found the problem, I won't consider this an answered question until Adobe fixes this bug.

    Had same problem too try to split the text into multiple text instances . Looks like Catalyst does not like tonns of special caracters in one text area

     

    Here is an example. Tree text shapes of italian text fulfilled with tons of spec caracters :

    I am having the same issue. I'm glad I found that I wasnt crazy! Glad to know it is a bug... will just have to watch what I copy and paste into it now.
