Website testing - but i don't know all the languages used.

Sep 21, 2010 2:09 PM

Hi everyone,

I'm a new web designer who does the basic visual design of a site with html and css. I'm begining to get requests for sites that need back-end technologies/languages such as php, javascript, coldfusion etc, which i don't know how to write.

If i were to get developers who know the necessary technologies to help build the site, how do i test the site to see that it has full functionality? Do i just use common sense and go through the steps of the would-be user or are there specific tools used to test specific technologies or aspects of a site.

I've read a bit about testing for accessibility, using validators and checking compatibility with different browsers for html and css. But how do i do this for technologies that i don't know?
