removing security from a no password pdf

Oct 4, 2010 2:46 PM

Hi All,

I have a PDF file that doesn't have any password associated with it in the security settings.  However, ever editable function (save, insert pages, etc) are all greyed out.  There must be some setting that is preventing me from editing the document.  Can anyone tell what commands to use to gain complete access of this PDF?

Thanks,

Chris

It may be that it is in PDF/A mode that does not allow editing. You need to transfer it out of that format. Unfortunately, I don't know the process for that, possibley preflight.

It has been addressed recently and you should be able to find it if you search--basically what I would be doing.

Try not viewing it in PDF/A mode: Edit > Preferences >Documents > PDF/A View Mode > Never
