My Windows XP died on which I had Photoshop Elements 3.0.1 operating perfectly. Upgrading my computer to Windows 7 I installed this licensed product once again, but find it will not operate in many of its functions. Is there some non-compatibility with this old version of Photoshop Elements 3.0 and Windows 7, and what is needed to fix the situation?
The picture files are not stored in Elements. They reside on your XP machine wherever you placed them. If you used the organizer in PSEv.3, then you will have to restore the catalog to PSEv.9.
If organizer is not an issue, then I would uninstall PSEv.3 from your new WIN 7 machine, since it does not function anyway.
How do you plan to get the picture files and other files to your new computer?
All the picture/graphic files stored in organizer on my old XP died with the machine - nothing was retrievable, however, all these files were backedup in my external hard drive. To re-establish the organiser files I am not too worried about, so long as I can retrieve any PSEv3 created files through the new version of PSEv9. This is really what I needed to be assured of before I purchase version 9. Thanks for your help.
