How do I get Photoshop Elements 3.0.1 to operate in Windows 7?

Oct 10, 2010 2:39 PM

My Windows XP died on which I had Photoshop Elements 3.0.1 operating perfectly.  Upgrading my computer to Windows 7 I installed this licensed product once again, but find it will not operate in many of its functions.  Is there some non-compatibility with this old version of Photoshop Elements 3.0 and Windows 7, and what is needed to fix the situation?

PSEv.3 is not supportesd in WIN 7. Suggest that you purchase PSEv.9.

The picture files are not stored in Elements. They reside on your XP machine wherever you placed them. If you used the organizer in PSEv.3, then you will have to restore the catalog to PSEv.9.

If organizer is not an issue, then I would uninstall PSEv.3 from your new WIN 7 machine, since it does not function anyway.

How do you plan to get the picture files and other files to your new computer?

If you have Win7 PRO or Ultimate, this will allow you to run old XP-style software
