Web Product Doesn't Cut It

Oct 30, 2010 3:27 AM

The user interface for this WISIWIG product is kinda clunky, and despite the effort, I'm not sure it even meets the needs of a cottage user.

First, I would recommend taking a look at Googlesites. It is easy to use, but it also has some challenges I don't like. Still, maybe Adobe can improve Google's approach even further.

What's also missing in your offering, is a built-in FTP solution, and EASY support for video.  As well, it is vital to include blog features that allow increased interaction with customers/prospects/friends.Perhaps you could integrate polling/quizes too?

Another approach...rather than revamp this offering, or re-engineer Googlesites, there is a small WISIWIG company called Beach Software that makes this easy-to-use thing called WebStudio.  You can include video, audio and there is even a built-in Flash slideshow.CSS compliant too.

They are the best-kept secret on the web which is a nice way of saying, their marketing sucks.

Why doncha just buy 'em? And no...I am not a shareholder. Just seems to me, your customers would be better served, and you could incorporate their features easily enough into Rome.
