Tools are not behaving themselves :o(

Hello, I've just opened Illustrator CS5, and for some reason certain things don't work as they normally should. I.e. When i go to re-size a shape and i naturally hold down shift to maintain it's proportions it's just not functioning, same with Alt + Drag for duplicating. This happend in InDesign and then 5 minutes later started working correctly, is this something that can be resolved? Or am i going mad!!

Any suggestions much appreciated

Oli Wales,

You may have tickled your mouse, tore at its tail, or otherwise distracted it.

And it may be worth checking whether it is unwell.

Try restarting your computer. This usually does the trick.
