LR color profile vs PS profiles

Nov 5, 2010 2:35 AM

Why is it not possible to handle and see the files in LR in ADOBE RGB only in PROPHOTO RGB ?
There is allways a diference between yhe file opened in LR and PS. Profoto is oke  but not allway realistic to use. What printers and monitor reproduce this colorwidth. And all my printing profiles does Adobe RGB as a start. Is there any possibility to add Adobe profile in the general preferences.

Exporting options are is something completely different.

You see images within your monitor profile. LR uses its own colour space to work in, a specialised  version of Kodak ProPhoto called Mellisa. If what you are  talking about is softproofing, that is viewing a file in a particular profile simulated for your monitor profile, LR doesn't at present do this. However there is a plug in which does here.

I'm not the expert here, but my understanding was the Melissa was ProPhoto with an sRGB tone curve, while LR does its internal calculations in ProPhoto linear.
