Deconvolution: Number of iterations

Nov 7, 2010 6:48 PM

When ACR detail is set to 100% I understand from MadmanChan that deconvolution is applied. I would like to have a slider to control the number of iterations and matrix applied. Those of us with very fast (4 Ghz quad computers) and plenty of time could probably benefit from being able to set the matrix and number of iterations

    Sharpening, not deconvolution.

We don't currently have a real deconvolution in our products (mostly because it is not a solved problem yet, still being actively researched).

That's interesting. I tested smart sharpen again FocusMagic and got identical results.

Ah, Chris, I thought that Smart sharpen was some form of deconvolution...

Glad to know it is not the case, after all...

Smart Sharpen is so primitive I wouldn't call it a deconvolution.  It does a few steps of iterative sharpening, but, um, no.
