I have tried to change the template, but the changes do not seem to save. What am I missing?
I've been able to reproduce this issue on my side. I've reported it to our engineers to look into, hopefully they'll find a solution soon.
This only occurs with a non-Plus (standard) account. If you do something, like change the background color (say from Black to Green), that change will be reflected in the slideshow editor. And if you apply the settings and come back later to edit the slideshow further, those settings will have been remembered. But anyone who visits your slideshow will see the slideshow with default settings. If you do the same thing under a Plus account, it works as expected.
Brett, as long as you have the engineers working on this, you might also mention that the "sort by" always defaults to and reverts back to "Most Recently Updated", even though I always try to set it to "Alphabetical"

page; this always seems to default to "recently modified". I would prefer
to use "alphabetically" as my default sort. Should be be user defined?
