Can't install Flash Player 10 for Firefox

I'm running Windows 7 64bit, IE8 and Firefox 3.6.13. I installed Flash for IE and it is working fine. The following files are listed in C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash:

 

Flash10l.ocx
FlashInstall.log
FlashUtil10l_ActiveX.dll
FlashUtil10l_ActiveX.exe

 

When running install_flash_player.exe I get an error message "The installation encountered errors: No error infomation is available". I get the same error when running uninstall_flash_player.exe.

 

I tried already http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/494/cpsid_49419.html with no success.

    Hi, If you have Installed FP for IE and it is working then all you need to do is use the Installer for Flash Player for Firefox. No need to Uninstall now.

     

    Use your Firefox browser and :

     

    Go to  http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
    Be sure to choose the one for Windows, Plugin based browsers, download EXE Installer.

     

    Download it and SAVE it to your Desktop, Close all browsers, disable any messenger services that may be in the system tray.

     

    Run the Installer and when finished Reboot(Restart) your computer.

     

     

    That should be all you need to do. It seems you may have been using the wrong Installer for FF.
