To use a different SN, launch FB and then choose "Deactivate Flash Builder..." from the Help menu.
You'll see two options in the resulting dialog:
- Suspend Activation
- Deactivate Permanently.
Choose "Deactivate Permanently", and then quit FB. On the next launch you should be prompted for a new SN.
Due to a licence problem we applied for a refund and then re-purchased FB4.5 licences. Now I want to change to use the new license code but when I try to deactivate it says "Deactivation was not successful. Please try again. Error code #194:8".
Perhaps this is because my old license code has been invalidated by Adobe or something.
How can I implement the new license code?
(I suppose I can just leave the old code if there's no easy way to update it).
This isn't an answer, just sharing my experience. Went through the same thing where I returned FB to CS5.5 Master Collection but I could never deactivate, even if I uninstalled the original program, deleted every Adobe registry item I could find, deleted appData folder, programDate, etc. etc.
Hey, it was time to install Windows 7 again. Has worked fine since.
