CS4 Custom Effect Preset File Locations - import them to cs5

Dec 29, 2010 11:41 PM

I am moving my editing from cs4 to cs5.

I want to load my custom effect presets - I can't find them to import.

does anyone know the stock/standard file location for them?

it doesn't seem to be c:/user/me/documents/adobe.

nor C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CS4\Presets

thanks!

You can export them out of CS4 first, and them bring them into CS5.

If memory serves, you should be able to export out a whole folder at a time.

    sounds great. how?

I honestly don't recall.  I'd have to figure it out myself, so I will leave you to do the same.

It must be possible.  I did it here.

You need to put the presets in their own bin.

Exactly, like I suggested in post 3.

Dude, I just fired up Premiere Pro.  All it takes is a right click on the folder.  You seriously couldn't figure that out?

Look closely at what lines are highlighted and where the presets reside.

    Even got Jim's presets.

when I right-click on the bin that contains all of my custom presets, the "export preset" is grayed out.

You didn't actually select the folder, you just right clicked without a selection.
