I cannot find the (...) tool!

You are following a tutorial that mentions a given tool, but you do not see it in your toolbar.
It is normal: given the number of tools in Photoshop, they are grouped together.
Click on this image, extracted from the help files to see where each tool is located, and their shortcuts:
