I performed another way to diagnise this issue today.
I bought a new hard drive and a new Windows 7 (64-bit) full install software installation.
I started with a new hard drive--no other hard drives in the system-- and did a fresh installation of Windows 7 and Office 2007.
All went well.
Then I installed Presenter 7 from the Adobe web site. It installed into PowerPoint 2007.
Then I tried to add a recording to a PowerPoint 2007 presentation. I received the same error message that I received when I started this thread.
Since this is an installation on a new machine how can this occur? Is there something wrong with Adobe Presenter 7 on Windows 7 64-bit? I do not have any other software on the hard disk other than Windows 7,Office 2007 and Presenter.
Very confused by this software issue.

I spent the afternoon on the phone with Adobe support after installing but failing to run Adobe Presentation on a Win 7 machine with Powerpoint 2007. I'm now waiting for a call back. The license agreement comes up fast and tantelizes you, then leaves.
I tried installing on my laptop after I got home. Same results, but the machine is a tad slower, and I can just read the agreement, but it leaves too quick to click on the "agree" button.
I'm waiting for a Tier 2 call back ...

I purchased the e-Learning Suite2 and MS Office 2010. I installed both on a new PC.
I posted a comment in another post about Windows 7 2010 compatibility with Presenter 7. It looked like the installation went fine, but I could neither see the Presenter application in my Start window (like I can with all of the other eLearning Suite applications).
I clicked open the Adobe application folder on my hard drive and can see a folder for Presenter 7.
The folder contains a Presenter Windows Installer. So I double-clicked that and got the installation wizard for Presenter.
When I started, it asked me to close PowerPoint which I did. I then got as far as the screen asking me to enter my serial number and when I enter the number on my eLearning Suite CD (the one I used to install the other eL2 applications), I got an invalid serial number message.
Any suggestions?

same problem on 4 pc's here...
surely the install files have changed at some time because I've had Presenter 7
working on Windows 7 with Office 2010 for ages...
then we upgrade our pc's to CS5 so I reinstalled everything from scratch and now
it will not work on any of them!
this is completely unacceptable in my opinion, why is it that other Adobe products
are patched regularly but good ol' Presenter always has something wrong with it?
I've been using this for years and there is always an issue somewhere.

Now I have found an old installation file of Presenter 7.0 on a backup-drive from 2010-09-27 and it isn't work as well... very confusing.

I have successfully installed Windows 7, Office 2010 and Presenter 7 on a 32 bit machine. I was able to record and publish.
I did not do anything to the registry. Most of our users would have a problem with doing this. Make sure you update your Windows 7 to service pack 1. I also updated PowerPoint with a security patch. Then you need to install presenter 7. If you have installed presenter, you need to uninstall it. I was able to record on several slides and then publish.

This is well meant but does NOT help.
I have two computers, both with Win7 64bit and both with PP 2010 32bit. On one computer Presenter 7 installed works correctly but on the other one I get the error described above.
I have uninstalled Presenter 7 and cleaned my computer with CCleaner MANY times and YES I do have SP1, as I think there is an old file which Presenter did not uninstall.
So, will anybody from Adobe please respond?

I have 4 brand new edit stations for our media center at work and Adobe Presenter
works on none of them!
They are Windows 7 64bit with Office 2010 32bit.
Our Presenter output has ground to a complete halt... we'll be looking for
alternatives after this episode as Adobe Presenter has never been anything
other than a bug ridden pos.
I have the same problem.
Running Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) with PowerPoint 2007 (32-bit). It worked previously on my laptop when I was running 32-bit version. But, moved to 64-bit due to application requirements (needed to be able to access more memory). The software works on my desktop (Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit) but not on my laptop. Could it be the difference between Professional and Home Premium?
Adobe told me they would not help me since I am running 64-bit OS and Presenter is not certified on that. This answer came after 6+ hours (over a few days) of talking to many different support technicians.
Not good for us. We rely on Presenter to create content for our meetings in Connect Pro. With it not working, we may be forced to re-evaluate using Connect Pro.
Presenter makes it easy to create the type of content we want. We had no problems with any of this until March of this year.
Sadly, Adobe is not investing in Presenter. It would not surprise me if they are getting ready to drop it all together.
The latest eLearning Suite has the same version 7 as the Suite we purchased 2 years ago. I have uninstalled / reinstalled.
Please figure out an answer (anyone???).
I think that before we throw Adobe Connect Pro under the bus there are a couple of points that should be made.
First of all, we're talking about Presenter here, are we not? Not Adobe Connect Pro virtual meetings, right? They are two different things that reside on the same platform.
I am running Adobe Connect meetings on my Windows 7 32-bit machine. It is the same machine that Chris, my colleague, was working on. I also recorded a test presentation using Adobe Presenter after she was done doing what she has described, and it all worked, seamlessly.
There IS a solution.
I think that what Adobe needs to do is:
I'm sure this is easier said than done. The reason for me posting this message is simply to suggest that while this may be a huge bug for Adobe to fix, it is fixable. But as I said in an earlier message in this thread; Adobe CANNOT ALLOW THIS TO LANGUISH. Our users at my shop are faculty, and faculty are fickle technology users. If there is no fix to this, they will abandon it and move on.
Lastly, I just want to say is that there some pretty smart guys at Adobe who are good at what they do. Now they've got to prove it again.

It seems that there is somewhat of a mix-up in this thread. There are 2 issues being discussed -
1. Presenter 7 is installed and licensed but when you access it inside PowerPoint, it throws the message that it is not licensed and does not let you proceed. This thread is for this particular issue only. There is a bug report in the Adobe bug database for this issue as well and is being actively looked into.
2. Installation fails or installation completes but Presenter does not appear inside PowerPoint. This issue mostly seen on 64 bit machines and it is for this issue that certain registry changes are being suggested. The thread for that issue is http://forums.adobe.com/message/3608585#3608585.

I am a bit dissapointed not hearing from Adobe on this. In the meantime I have done a bit of hacking.
This is how I got around the problem were 'Presenter 7' brings up the EULA page for too short a moment to be able to accept it, and then thinks it was declined, and subsequently shows an error saying: "Adobe Presenter failed to open because either it is not licensed or there is an error".
So I hacked the EULA html file (see below)
After installation of Presenter 7, replace the content of the file
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Presenter 7\adobe_epic\eula\install.html
with the following content, where the line in bold is the important one

I am the QA manager for Adobe Presenter and am looking at the issue you are facing. In this regard, can you provide some additional detail of the issue you are facing:
- Is Presenter part of your ELS2 suite or a stand alone purchase?
- What is the behavior you observe after installation?
- Have you executed the Office2010_els2 patch while installing?
- would you be able to make a registry change similar to the one that the Office2010_els2 patch makes in order to overcome the issue?

Finally it comes to be an issue with IE9. A pre-accepted EULA works fine, but if the product is installed after IE9 has been installed, the Javascript is unable to execute and hence the EULA is not visible.
So whoever is having this issue, they may need to revert back to IE8 to get Adobe Presenter in action again. Finally mine is live again.

Please advise... I have new install of ELS2 Office 2010 32 bit on a Windows7 64 bit machine. I have followed the advice to alter the registry key in another thread and finally Presenter appears when I open PowerPoint, but now I have this thread's problem. I tried to go in an alter the EULA code as suggested as a work around, but the computer would not allow my to save the editted EULA file. It told me I could not save to this space and to contact the administrator. I am the administator on this machine. Can any body clarify. I found the EULA file, but I do have IE9.
