This is a fundamental question but I can't find the answer anywhere. So it must be too obvious.
I want my client application on my machine to access data from a server on another machine using RemoteObject.
What do I have to do to get Flash Builder to do this?
I can only get it to work if I have a server clone set up and running on my local development machine. That is crazy. I just want to develop the client application and then when I run it, have it access the remote server. I can only find examples that insist I set up a server on MY machine.
Is it possible to develop a flex application that uses RemoteObject/BlazeDS without having a server running on local host? Please say yes and tell me what I am doing wrong.
This is my compiler options setting:
-services "http://171.171.171.171/tomcat/webapps/server/WEB-INF/flex/services-con fig.xml"
Flash Builder says:
Please specify a valid <services/> file path in flex-config.xml.
What is the problem? Do I HAVE to have flex-config.xml on my development machine?
PS: link does not actually work, don't click it.
