Acrobat pdf file format is having difficulties. Object label badly formatted.

May 3, 2011 9:31 AM

I'm using Adobe Illustrator CS5 on a PC (Windows XP)

When I try to open one particular file, I get the following message:

"Acrobat pdf file format is having difficulties. Object label badly formatted."

I've seen some discussions about this error msg previously, but only when using CS4, and everyone was referring to some type of "suitcase fusion", which I am not using.

Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated

More details...! How was the specific file produced? Does it open in Acrobat/ Adobe Reader or otehr vector-enabled apps? What fonts or elements does it use?

Can you open a new Illustrator document window and File/Place the image as a link and then embed the image to get the objects back? You may have to release clipping masks also.

Have you ever had the trial version of Suitcase Fusion on your computer?

Perhaps the font has become corrupt and needs to be reinstalled or you install a more recent font and it is conflicting with the file.

You have not told us anything about your set u and updates an software and third party plugins etc.

Tell us more a lot more.
