Pop-up that checks on form submission.

I have some pages where the user sends amended information from a form to MYSQL database (using php).
I would like the page to launch a pop-up question if the user tries to close the page without having submitted the form.  Eg. "Are you sure you want to leave this page without submitting changes?"

Where can I find how this is done, please?

I'm using DWMX2004 & Windows
