May 27, 2011 1:10 PM

Hello im new to the flash programing world and i need some help I keep getting this in the output spot when i choose "Quick project" in the project spot:

SyntaxError: missing ) after argument list.

i need to know what it means and how to fix it, this is the code i was making.

package
{
    import flash.display.MovieClip;

    public class Main extends MovieClip
    {
        public function Main()
        {
            trace("Hello World");
        }
    }
}

as you can see it's a starting of a "Hello World" program

if you need any more info just ask

God Bless

    click file/publish settings/flash and tick "permit debugging".  retest.  copy and paste the complete error message.

    that's not a compiler error.  i don't know what you're doing to cause that.

    create a new fla and don't add anything to it.  save it and test it.  if no problems add your class file and retest.
