I need to allow windows on screen keyboard to popup when I click on a text field within my application. Is there any setting for allowing this or is it simply not possible in AIR?
Do you want Windows built-in on-screen keyboard - just to be correct on words - that is this feature?
If answer is yes - then please try following:
- open windows console (terminal) and type "OSK" (or "osk" - case should not matter) - I assume it should popup as it works that way from Windows XP to most recent 7.
Now if you want that native OS feature be invoked from your application then you have to use NativeProcess and native installer - so you could invoke
file = new File("c:\\windows\\system32\\osk.exe")
as native process executable
If you want flash-based on-screen keyboard I would go into full screen internactive mode and simply layout your own keys (as used to develop for people for touch-screens),
