I'm creating a pdf with Apache FOP in Linux then I need to convert the pdf it into an eps.
I'm trying lot of ways, the only one that seems works is the pdftops. But, when I convert it into Linux in command line
pdftops file.pdf -eps file.eps
This command creates me the eps but when I try to open it in Adobe Illustrator in Windows XP It returns me the error
EAAFD+HelveticaNeueLTStd-MdCnO_99-Identify-H;
Font not found on the system; missing font has been substituted.
1: the fonts han not been substituted2: the eps do not show words inside it is all blank instead of the images
I'm sure that in Windows XP I have all the fonts becouse if I convert the pdf to an eps inside the Adobe Illustrator all works fine and Adobe Illustrator do not show me the fonts issue.
I need to convert the eps via command line in Linux.
And then send it to someone that will open it in Adobe Illustrator.
(I need to do this for lot of reason that I do not want to list here.)
Can you help me?
What I'm doing wrong?
Sounds much more like an Apache/Linux issue than an Illustrator issue.
Does the resulting eps open in Actobat Distiller? Can you place the EPS into Illustrator or any other app?
Sounds to me like it's simply a bad EPS.
Have you tried just opening the PDF with Illustrator? Illustrator is PDF-based and there's no need for the additional step of making an EPS.
I don't have Acrobat Distiller.
I can place the eps into Illustrator but returns the error that I've
explained before.
I can place the eps in this app http://epsviewer.org/ but I think that it do
not import the fonts
it only rasterize the eps and show it (in this case all the fonts it showed,
but it has a low quality)
If I open the PDF in illustrator all works fine.
My target is to convert the PDF to EPS in linux in command line
and then the Illustrator have to open the eps correctly.
