I'm going to apologize ahead of time if this is a silly question with an obvious answer. I've been supplied an InDesign Markup Document (along with Fonts and Links folders) and need to make a few adjustments. My problem is that InDesign (using CS4) doesn't recognize all of the fonts from the folder. Within the Fonts folder is an Eaton folder (these are recognized), a Univers folder and ._Univers Folder file (neither of these are recognized). Does anyone know how to get ID to recognize the Univers fonts? I've included a screen grab of the Univers folder w/ details if that helps.
I get this missing font message all the time when I open older InDesign files that I created on a Mac and have only ever been opened on a Mac. However, there is no apparent effect to the document, so I just ignore it.
99% chance they can't legally do that and a high chance something will get goofed up even if they did know how to make the conversion. You'll need to swap the fonts by number to the LTD-STD versions. In my experience they line up closely and there is relatively no consequence between swapping between the old PostScript to the new OpenType.
