I am needing a little bit of
help. I am currently using Authorware 6.0 and yes I know it is old , but we are trying to convert but
since it has not been opened in a while it is now giving me an error message of:
The new file canot be created because the following error has occurred: Computer memory is full.
I am getting this message when I first open up Authorware.
It chokes if you have more than 2 Gb of RAM.
Quickest workaround is to open a few large PhotoShop files to eat up some RAM.
Slowest is probably to create a Virtual Machine with Virtual PC and
run Authorware in that.
Or just pull some RAM from your machine.
This probably doesn't help but just for your info. I have heard about this 2 gb limit with Authorware but I have not had any problems (lucky). I have 4 gb of ram installed with 2.71 gb available while I am using Authorware 6.5 and I am using Vista Home Premium. I don't know why my version is working.
I have worked around the memory limit by changing the size of the Windows virtual memory paging file to something under 2G, and rebooting. Just remember to change it back! Much easier than removing memory chips...procedure is easy through Control Panel, but different from version to version so simply Google it...
