After Effects for Windows Server

Aug 4, 2011 6:17 PM

Even though in Tech spcs for AE, no Windows Server platform is mentioned, but still wanted to know why AE CS5.5 does not work on Windows Server 2k3. I installed Master Collection CS5.5. All except AE work. AE gives error " The specified program requires a newer version of Windows'.  Windows Server 2003 64bit is installed on a 64bit Xeon processor. Any idea if AE CS5.5 will work on Windows Server 2008? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

It's not a supported operating system. We don't program for it, we don't test on it, and we don't provide technical support for it.

Very likely not. WinServ 2003 isn't even a full Vista and as Todd already said, absolutely not supported in any way. I'm sure there is some convoluted hack involving installs of .NET, MSVC runtimes and other stuff including manual registry edits and registering DLLs via regsrv, but this may be a rather nerve-wrecking experience, so I don't think it's worth the trouble...

    Todd,

Are there any plans or ongoing development at Adobe to support AE on WinServer?

    thanks

If you want an operating system to be added to the list of those for which we test and provide support, submit a feature request here:
