Can you repair an avi file from onlocation?

I was recording a funeral and about 10 minutes before the end onlocation crashed... I have the avi file but nothing will open it.  Does anyone know of how you can repair them?

    I have attached a free utility that might be able to recover the file. After unzipping it, change the extension from ".rename" to ".exe". Note that this utility is available for Windows only.

     

    This is the first time I've tried attaching it to a forum post; if you have any trouble getting it that way, please email me as "mapes (at) adobe [dot] com" and I'll send it to you by email.
