sidecar.xml and horizontal scrolling

Sep 8, 2011 4:14 PM

Just followed the documetation and just uploaded a folio with a sidecar.xml file with

set to never and  set to true. This should have set the articles to Horizontal swipe only but it never. I had to go into the folio producer tools and set it there. Am Idoing something wrong?

    Christian,

the syntax for using the "horizontal scrolling only" feature in a sidecar

    file is

it can be "true" and "false".

You mixed up with the values for smoothscrolling articles, wich can be

    "portrait", "landscape", "always", never.

When you set Flatten to true, set smooth scrolling to off.

For easier overview the sidecar.xml generator (this depency is noted there,

    too)

ok, this is complicated now, sorry.

In my sidecar xml generator I called it "off", but in the xml file is is

called never. Never = Off (Snap to Page) in InDesign.

    possible combination:

make use of indesign's "Horizontal swiping only"

    false</isFlattenedStack

    Hello Johannes

I still don't understand which tag to write in the xml file so that "Horizontal Swipe only" is applied on an article. Because your generator has options for Smooth Scrolling but not for Horizontal Swipe only.

    Thank you.

It’s the flatten setting which comes from the original flatten stack command.

Enable flatten is the same as enabling horizontal swipe only.

Bob is right. It was called "Flattening" in the early days and is just shorter in the menu than flatten. I changed the description of the field to be more like the current setting.

    Thank you for your feedback.
