How well will CS5 work on my PC?

Sep 9, 2011 7:45 AM

I'm looking to get CS5 Design Premium for my windows machine.

specs:

Windows 7 32bit

4Gig DDR3 RAM

Intel Core2 Duo 3.16 Wolfdale processor

Asus Motherboard with SLI compatibility

9800 GT 512meg processor

500gig HDD

Now, my question is, since I built this machine some 3 years ago, how well will CS5 work on it?  For gaming this machine still runs fine, but I've never done any real Graphic Design on it.

Am I looking at a dog that needs upgrading or will this machine still run the software without bogging down?

IF I need upgrades, what components should I upgrade?

thanks

I would consider more RAM (and a 64bit version of Windows to better handle that extra RAM). But what you have currently would suffice to run CS5. It really depends on the type of work you do with CS5.

Design Premium don't have memory-eaters like Premiere or After Effects, so your configuration will fit, even with this RAM. But since more and more adobe soft uses 64-bit, you should consider 64-bit windows.
