How do I make Epic files resolution 1/4, 1/2, etc. in Source Settings?

Sep 19, 2011 2:21 PM

I'm trying edit the files in a 1k or 2k timeline and I would like to finish in After Effects using the original 5K files. This is following Adobe's recommended work flow for RED files.

You used to be able to change the R3D source settings to 1/2 or 1/4 resolution for R1 files, but I'm not seeing this option when I bring up the source settings with the Epic Files.

Any ideas how I can do this?

Thanks,

Brendan

I believe you  have to use Red Cine X software to transcode. Not sure there is any other way--good luck!

It's not A dobe. It's the red epic files. They are a different Codec than the other red files and they aren't compatible with anything. Adobe just developed a work around so

can view them. I don't think they were meant to be edited in 5K. Are you doing a feature? If not why not trascode to pro res or somethimg?
