Keeping an mp3 player playing through multiple pages

I am trying to figure out a way to have an mp3 player that will automatically plays music when the user gets to the site and that plays music continually when the user navigates to other pages within the site.
I would like pretty much the entire header of the pages to be exactly the same including the logo, login area, mp3 player and navigation buttons.  So only the content of the page below the navigation bar should change when I go to other pages within the site.  This should also save on loading times as the upper part of the page should not reload for every page, only for the first page navigated to.

 

I'm wondering what is the best way to do this.  I tried messing around with frames but I ran into some troubles and thought I would ask here what is the best way to go before I waste any more time.
