Flash versions for old operating systems (OSes)

Oct 4, 2011 10:20 AM

Hi!

I see Flash Player v11 has no support for Mac OS X 10.5 and Windows 2000 SP4 according to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/919/cpsid_91932.html#main_system_requirements which is understandable. Will Flash v10 still get security fixes/updates for now?

Thank you in advance.

Flash Player version 10 will continue to receive backport security fixes during the life of FP11.  if your OS supports Flash Version 10, you will be able to download any security releases that may become available.  it is unlikely  that bug fixes will be included with those backports.

direction of the product may change, so it's difficult to state anything concrete.   releases such as FP11 with include major feature or architectural changes.  if it's any indication, the first version of FP10 was released Feb 2010.

Are you sure?  The 10.0.12.36 installer (from the archive) has a digital signature with the timestamp 2008-10-05.
