WHat do you think is the best adobe product to make a site logo.

Basically i use fireworks, but i think, if i want to make an impressive logo i must turn into

in illustrator or photoshop.

    Jim,

Unless you completely rule out any use of the logo at different sizes/resolutions, you should create it as vector artwork if at all possible. It depends on (the requirements of) the artwork, but Illustrator is far more versatile for vector artwork.

In any case, never forget that impressive may be extremely simple.

    Jim,

    • Don't compress your original source files
    • Web images = 72 dpi regardless of source
    • Computer images (desktop icons) = 100 dpi
    • Commercial offset printing = 150 - 300 dpi
    • Newspaper
      • print = 200 - 250 dpi.
      • line art = 400 - 600 dpi.
    • Magazines (high quality paper)
      • print = 300 - 400 dpi
      • line art = 1200 - 2400 dpi
    • Video graphics = 300 dpi or higher.

PS. Adobe employees seldom contribute to the web forums. When they do, you can identify them by their Adobe Employee Avatars.  Most replies to forum questions come from industry volunteers & fellow product users like you.

    Jim,

In addition to what Nancy said:

Some forum natives come round often, but it depends on the time: some forum natives are over there, and some are over here. I am over here, where it is about half an hour after midnight now.

For my part you are welcome, Jim.

Just to make sure: when you create vector artwork (in Illustrator), the resolution only applies to the final (output) format, if at all (when you save as a PDF it will still remain vector).

    dhussey111,

Formerly Macromedia has been acquired by Adobe. It has been some years since Macromedia acquired by Adobe. Lot of things has changed from that point on.

Yes, Adobe is definitely a good tool to make logo... perhaps Illustrator is obvious app to work to design logo.
