Illustrator CS5

I am working in Illustrator CS5. I am designing a shirt and when i go to save it as an Adobe PDF so i can email it to my client. It saves it as a photoshop document. I have designed numerous shirts on this lap top and it has never done this before. Can anyone tell me why or how to fix this problem?
