What DID I Do to get this symbol in Code

This symbol appears of all lines  my code view. It cant de deleted without its altering the layout of the document it appears in.

 

to properly edit within code  need to banish these characters

 

what might I have done to get in this mess?

 

I clicked something in VEIW prior to encountering this problem

    The p> is part of a paragraph tag. It should be <p> (opening tag) or </p> (closing tag), but p> is invalid. The next symbol is a hard return from Word or some other word processor. You might try Commands/Clean up Word HTML to get rid of it.

    The hard return is also a DW character - it's needed to separate lines.  Use VIEW | Code View Options > Hidden Characters, and you'll see them in your code too.

     

    In other words, they are normal.

     

    To really know what's happening with _my_pov's code, we'd need to see more of it than just that one character.  So @_my_pov, can you show us a block of that code, please?

    However, "p>" is NOT a hidden character.  Are you still seeing those?  Or was the initial image really just showing the"¶" character and the "p>" part was irrelevant?
