Ls,

I have a MC filled with tiles, most of them background stuff.

When scrolling the entire MC containing everything.

I notice a significant lag.

Note: i dont scroll every tile indicidually afcourse, just the parent containing them all.

Would it help to stamp/draw (as opposed to using addchild) every background tile MC into 1 large MC that is used as a background layer so that flash would have only 1 instead of say 15 X 8 mini tiles to scroll?

4 those of uou interested....

I just tried it and it makes a humungus difference.

Figures, but i was hoping just scrolling the parent mc would be the same because of some internal pre blitting or something.

Anyhoe.

Now we know.

Hm perhaps cashing em all as bitmaps might be the same.. didnt try that.

would it?

Just talking to myself here
