Every attempt to update my copy of Acrobat Pro 9.2.0 fails followed by this message:
"The patch has failed because the application has been modified since it was originally installed (for example, plug-ins may have been disabled)."
An Adobe TechNote recommended this procedure:
Can someone recommend something else?
Thanks
So you're telling me everytime Adobe sends an update for Acrobat, I have to uninstall everything, reinstall and then apply the new update? I say that, because the last two times I received notice of an update, that was the only way I could get it to work. Amazing. I think I will just stick with my old version. To do what you say, I have to download the file from the Adobe server. I purchased the download version, and not the CD.
No, I'm not saying that at all. But if your copy of Acrobat become corrupted (which apparently happened because of the error message), that's a way of solving the problem. It's usually not necessary to do that.
When you download Acrobat (or any other software), the expectation is that you will keep a backup of the download in case it needs to be restored.
