object duplication problem

Hi guys, Sometime while I was working on AI CS5 using the selection tool to move an object or anchor point. It just happened that the tool had automatically duplicated those object without me pressing option key. I was trying to figure out how the trick had happened with no success. Logging out the program and reopen the document to start it over was no use. How can I prevent or disable such automatic switching tool? (I was using Wacom Bamboo tablet instead of mouse.)
